Dräger

Gas detection and safety technology.

Gas Detection & AnalysisWe represent this line.

On an industrial facility, hazardous substances are part of the daily routine. With the right solutions and reliable equipment, the threat of explosive gas leaks or overexposure to toxic hazards can be drastically reduced. Dräger's complete portfolio of fixed gas detectors includes an extended range of toxic, flammable and oxygen monitors that interface seamlessly with Dräger's own control systems and components, and with third-party devices. It doesn't stop at the hardware: we help assess, define and implement a complete fixed gas detection solution for the workplace it has to protect. When the right system is in place, your people stay safe and the work continues.

What we carry, by measurement

Pick what you’re measuring.

The transmitters that sit in the plant and watch for gas. Which sensing technology you need depends on the gas, not the location.

Choosing between them

Toxic gas: H₂S, CO, ammonia, chlorinePolytron with an electrochemical sensor
Combustible hydrocarbonsPolytron PIR (infrared)
Oxygen deficiencyPolytron, O₂ sensor
Harsh, dirty or humid locationPIR: no reaction with the gas to poison

A starting point, not a substitute for sizing. Send us the process conditions and we’ll do the calculation.

Polytron

The fixed transmitter platform, taking electrochemical and catalytic sensors across toxic, combustible and oxygen service.

Use it whenThe default for a fixed point in a plant. The transmitter stays; the sensor is what you match to the gas and replace over time.

Polytron PIR (infrared)

Point infrared detection for combustible hydrocarbons.

Use it whenCombustible gas in a location that would poison or blind a catalytic sensor: silicones, high humidity, or an area where you can't get to it often. Infrared doesn't react with the gas, so it doesn't get consumed.

Cross-references & replacements

Inherited a Dräger installation, or not sure what's due? Send us a photo of the transmitter label and the panel. We'll tell you what sensor it takes, whether it's still supported, and what calibration it needs. If a detector has been out of calibration long enough to be unreliable, we'll say so plainly.
