REXA builds one thing and applies it three ways: an electraulic actuator, in linear, rotary and damper-drive form. Electraulic is REXA’s own term for a sealed, self-contained drive — an electric power module works closed-loop hydraulics inside the actuator, so it accepts an electrical signal like an electric actuator but positions the load hydraulically, with what REXA describes as no routine fluid maintenance. REXA presents the XPAC Series 3 as tailor-made for critical control applications in challenging settings, and the case they make for it is economic rather than technical: less unplanned downtime, tighter control, lower maintenance, longer equipment life, with installations that often pay back in as little as one year. An ISO 9001 company, made in the U.S.A. Rust represents REXA, so these are configured to the valve and the duty rather than pulled from a shelf.

XPAC Series 3 linear actuator
Thrust of 2,000 to 275,000 lbf (8,896 to 1,332,260 N) over strokes of 2 to 120 in (5 to 305 cm), driven by the electraulic power module and closed-loop hydraulics, with no routine fluid maintenance.
Use it whenReach for this on a globe, gate or knife-gate valve — anything that slides. It is the answer when a motor-driven actuator keeps failing on duty cycle, or cannot hold position against the process, and when a piston actuator cannot throttle finely enough. The thrust range covers nearly every large linear control valve, so start here and work back to the valve.
XPAC Series 3 rotary actuator
Torque of 2,500 to 1,500,000 in-lbs (282 to 169,477 Nm) with 90, 120 or 270 degrees of rotation, on a rack and pinion cylinder design.
Use it whenReach for this on ball, butterfly and plug valves where the valve throttles rather than just opening and shutting. Take the rotation angle from the valve and not the actuator — 270 degrees exists for multi-port and specialty bodies, so if you are quoting 270 you should be able to say which body needs it.
XPAC Series 3 damper drives
The same torque range and rotation options as the rotary actuator, on the same rack and pinion cylinder design, built for damper and louver duty.
Use it whenReach for this on FD and ID fan dampers, inlet guide vanes and diverter louvers — loads that modulate continuously and chew through pneumatic drives. This is the classic REXA retrofit: the drive is replaced because the old one could not keep up, not because the damper changed.
These are ordered, not fitted afterwards, so they have to be right on the purchase order. Worth a conversation before the quote goes out.
Fail-safe operation
Fail-safe capability across the Series 3 line: the actuator drives to a defined position on loss of power or signal.
Use it whenSpecify it wherever losing power has to leave the process safe rather than leaving the valve wherever it stopped. Decide the fail position from the process — fail-open and fail-closed are the same option with opposite consequences.
Redundant construction

Use it whenSpecify it where the actuator cannot be taken out of service to be worked on and an outage costs more than the redundancy — continuous plant, critical loops, anything feeding a single train.

Area classification and environment
NEMA 4X / IP66 enclosure rating, hazardous-area certifications REXA lists as CSA, ATEX and IEC, plus temperature configurations and the adaptation hardware that mates the actuator to the valve.
Use it whenSettle the area classification and the real temperature extremes before selecting, and tell us the valve you are mounting to. The adaptation hardware is part of the order, so a correct actuator on the wrong mounting is still a return.
REXA supports the installed base directly, which matters on a drive that is expected to outlive several pneumatic replacements.
